Yoon Pin, LEONG
Leong Yoon Pin completed his second symphony in 1979 and the Metro Philharmonic Society's chorus and orchestra premiered the work in the same year. It is based on the poetic sentiments of the well-known Tang poet Li-Bo. Giocoso Largamente, the third movement of the second symphony, was re-scored by Leong Yoon Pin for symphonic band. This movement attempts to express two contrasting moods - happiness and sorrow. The joyful theme is based on the Yunnan folk song.
