La Vallée des Cloches (from Miroirs)

Translated as gThe valley of the bellsh, it belongs to a collection of five piano pieces called gMiroirsh (Mirrors) composed in 1904-05. Ricardo Viñes gave the first performance of the set in January 1906. Each of the five movements is dedicated to one of Ravelfs friends.

La vallée des cloches is dedicated to Maurice Delage who was a pupil of Ravel in the early 1900s, and then became one of his closest lifelong friends.
